Visit of MUNDA (National Museum of Abruzzo) - Entrance fee: approx. 10€
The National Museum of Abruzzo (Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo, MUNDA) is housed in the sixteenth-century castle of L’Aquila, exhibiting archaeological finds (including a full scale mammoth skeleton), as well as paintings and sculptures spanning the Middle Ages and the Renaissance through to the contemporary era (leaflet). The castle of L’Aquila was built starting in 1534 at the behest of Emperor Charles V of Habsburg by the Spanish architect Pedro Luis Escrivá.

Walk through the historic center of L'Aquila and reach out the outskirts to discover its remarkable landmarks, including the Basilica di Santa Maria di Collemaggio and the Fontana delle 99 Cannelle. This experience is designed for those who enjoy walking and exploring cities on foot. It is intended for experienced walkers comfortable with a sustained pace. Note that the route lasts at least two hours (about 6 km).
